GrainSure is a grain silo monitoring solution that has been in development since 2019. It enables silo owners to monitor the level of grain inside their silo, usage rate and predicted run out date without having to physically check the silo.

Our solution can also provide insight and to help streamline and improve business for feed suppliers, transport companies and other stakeholders, creating value for both supplier and consumer.

GrainSure is part of a family of companies that leverage innovative long range, low power IoT products focused on monitoring and management in the agriculture, residential, and commercial markets, developed by IoT Ventures Ltd. IoT Ventures is a New Zealand company that specialises in the design, build and deployment of LoRaWAN IoT solutions.

GrainSure uses LoRaWAN as its communication protocol for sending data from a solar powered, radar sensor, fitted on the silo lid to a modern, cloud-based software backend.

GrainSure devices have been trialled on silos for more than 18 months with different types of grains and are not affected by dusty environments. The GrainSure radar is typically accurate to 5% in terms of fill level up to the top of the silo cone, although individual measurements may be impacted by bridging or hollowing at different times during the feed cycle. Algorithms are used to predict run out dates based on changes to fill levels.
