Overview

This release represents a comprehensive update to how GrainSure measures, processes and presents silo information. It includes a redesigned dashboard, improved feed-level calculations, faster data updates and a range of configuration, usability and reliability enhancements.

Redesigned Dashboard and User Experience

Improved Silo Dashboard

The silo dashboard has been redesigned to make the most important information easier to understand at a glance and reduce the number of steps required to access key information.

The updated dashboard provides clearer visibility of:

  • Current calculated feed tonnage
  • Sensor locations and distance readings
  • Silo shape and dimensions
  • Maximum silo capacity
  • Projected run-out date

Additional Information and Reporting

New widgets provide additional operational information directly from the dashboard, making it easier to understand silo status and investigate unexpected readings.

Additional silo details and dimensions are also now available on mobile devices.

Improved Charts

  • Chart settings can now be configured individually for each silo.
  • Run-out and projected feed-level information have been consolidated into a single chart.
  • Historical data controls have been improved.
  • The fill gauge now updates immediately when configuration or chart settings are changed.
  • Measurements are presented more consistently throughout the platform.

Recording Feed Deliveries

Feed deliveries can now be recorded within GrainSure, providing additional information to support feed-level monitoring and validation.

Improved Feed-Level Calculations

Redesigned Calculation Process

The way raw sensor readings are processed into the reported feed level has been substantially redesigned. The updated process produces a more representative estimate of the feed remaining in each silo.

Calculations now make better use of:

  • Silo dimensions and geometry
  • Feed density
  • Maximum and rated silo capacity
  • Readings from multiple sensors
  • Filtering designed to reduce the effect of isolated or inconsistent readings

Improved Fill Detection

Processing and filtering have been refined to reduce false fluctuations while recognising genuine changes in feed levels more quickly, including feed deliveries.

Use of Both Silo Devices

For each point in time shown on the feed-level charts, GrainSure will only calculate the amount of feed in the silo when both devices have provided distance readings. Where a reading is unavailable from either device, no calculated fill amount will be shown for that point. This avoids presenting an estimate based on incomplete sensor information.

Maximum Capacity

A new Maximum Capacity setting allows the practical full point of a silo to be recorded rather than assuming every silo is filled to its theoretical maximum.

Feed Density and Rated Capacity

Feed density can now be edited directly from the silo dashboard. A silo’s rated tonnage can also be recorded, with a warning displayed if the calculated feed level differs significantly from the configured capacity.

Improved Run-Out Forecasting

Run-out calculations have been refined to provide more responsive and consistent projections as new readings and configuration changes are processed.

Faster and More Reliable Data Processing

More Timely Updates

Silo information now generally updates within one to two hours, providing more timely visibility of feed levels, usage and deliveries.

Enhanced Processing

Significant improvements have been made behind the scenes to increase the reliability and consistency with which device readings are received, processed and converted into feed-level information.

Diagnostic information has also been improved, helping the support team investigate unexpected readings and identify potential device, connectivity or configuration issues.

Reliability and Stability Improvements

This release also resolves several issues, including:

  • Volume calculations for silos without full use of top cone
  • Feed-height calculations used when analysing fill events
  • Errors affecting excluded-data and device-configuration screens
  • Handling of feed-density values entered with trailing zeros
  • Run-out forecasts that could occasionally be offset by several hours
  • Calculation of averages across silo groups

Support has also been expanded for additional silo shapes and configurations, alongside numerous performance, stability and usability improvements.

Ongoing Validation and Improvement

Following the release, we will continue working with customers and feed supply partners to validate reported levels against known deliveries and customer observations. Where required, we will also confirm silo measurements, installation details and hardware performance to ensure each silo is correctly configured.

Together, these improvements provide a stronger foundation for accurate feed-level monitoring, more timely information and greater confidence in feed planning.
